The Civil Rights Movement is often one of the most over looked events in United States history. The civil rights movement was the fight for equality for people of all races in the united states as segregation and inequality were major problems during the time. Some of the biggest names in the civil rights movement included Martin Luther King JR, Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, and many others. As many of these leaders gave everything they could give to make a difference in there country and some even lost there lives doing so. However it wasn't just about the leaders during the civil rights movement, it was about people all across the united states who were fighting for the opportunity to live a life equivalent to everyone around them no matter there skin color or race.

Rosa ParksRosa parks is best known for her act of refusing to give up her seat on the bus for another white passenger. Her actions sparked a bus boycott that encouraged people to fight for equal seating on a bus.

Malcolm XMalcolm X is one of the more interesting characters during the civil rights movement, Malcolm X lived a tough child hood as his father was murdered by the KKK and his home was burnt down by the KKK. X was self educated.
