The Korean war was one of the bigger conflict during the cold war. The Korean war started June 25th 1950 and lasted for about three years. The war was a direct conflict between North Korea, and South Korea. While there was no direct conflict or shots fired between American and USSR soldiers there was distinct backing from both sides for other countries. For example, the united states stood behind the south and assisted them with supplies to aid war efforts. However on the other side of things China backed the north along with the USSR in hopes to push and spread the idea of communism during the time. This was a key point during the cold war as its interesting to look at the situation in a different light, in this case what would have happened if South Korea would have fallen to the North and china, would that have meant certain doom and fall to communism for the United States and other countries world wide? The Korean War wasn't a harmless war, 50,000 American lives were lost along with 4 million Korean lives.

Why The Korean War?The Korean war was mainly a conflict due to communism and the fear of it. So although the conflict was between North and South Korea it was more than that it was the fear that if the United States didn't get involved then they may loose Korea and japan to communism
